As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

MUSK: “The goal of SpaceX is to establish a self-sustaining city on Mars”

Billions and billions in taxpayer dollars to this man’s company — yet we’re told there was no money to extend food assistance to those who need it here on Earth 🌎 🤷🏼

If California voters fail to pass Prop 50, the GOP could steal enough House seats to pass a nationwide abortion ban after 20 weeks, overriding state laws. Don't expect the Senate filibuster to save us—they might nuke it to end the shutdown

Leaves cloaked the paths between the yews and the tombs and the lichen-mottled stones and by the wall which edged the village green, white and violet Michaelmas daisies drooping in the mist. Then, as though called by a silent bell, one by one they came.

Your Prime Day reminder that half of Amazon warehouse workers struggle with food & housing costs.

A third have had to rely on government assistance like SNAP — which is about to get cut.

If Bezos can spend $50M on a wedding, Amazon can afford to treat its workers with dignity.

There appear to be at least three separately operating heel factions breaking things within the government in wholly different ways right now. There's the Miller-headed immigration one, the DOGE/Elon one, and a Project 2025 OMB one. This dynamic hasn't showed up in mainstream reporting at all.

Nothing bothers me today. All the lies, the horseshit, the foldoerol, the flim-flam, the flapdoodle, foofaraw, and heinous fuckery most foul does not affect me. I am a chillscicle. It is all cool runnings today.
