Noncitizens Were Underrepresented in Welfare Fraud Convictions in 2024
Benefits fraud is a serious issue, and whoever commits it should be held accountable, including through deportation in the case of a noncitizen.

This is not because Biden was lax about enforcing benefits fraud. His administration set the all-time record for convictions. It's just that, as benefits fraud has grown since 2020, noncitizen fraud convictions have continued to fall year after year.

B/c Minneapolis PD is outmanned and outgunned. They have 600 officers. There are currently 2,400 federal agents in Minneapolis and DHS is sending another 1,000.

This is the law of the jungle. It's already happening, right here. fin/

Isn't that what DHS is? Last week Mayor Jacob Frey told @thebulwark.com that *legally* no one is allowed to break the law, but *practically* Minneapolis PD can't arrest feds who they see breaking the law.

Why? 3/

Seems like when federal abdication happens on any topic, it’s California that is stepping into the breach.

Given the gutting of the EPA and its foundational responsibilities to all of us in reinforcing the clean air act, it will fall to states to emulate the progress of @governor.ca.gov
