It's the classic case of once they get wind that there's a growing customer base / use-case, they get fucky with it and sniff around for ways to nickle and dime it. Reminds me of when YouTube paywalled the background listening feature. Absolute chunts.

Yeah it's always down to the publisher agreeing the cloud / play anywhere deal. In DS's case this would be 505 (I bet they pulled it cos GFN got way more popular and they wanted to haggle a better deal), and in SH2's it's Konami - they're the ones who need a knock at their door!

yeah sorry, they money hatted console exclusivity, but as you say, it was also on PC. It's in no way a PS game though. It's a Konami game. Are there other PS games on Xbox Play anywhere? (Death Stranding might be, but even that's a weird publishing deal).

(addendum - Sony paid for exclusivity for a year, but the game is by Bloober and Konami isn't it?) 💚
