I see people throwing themselves in front of armored feds on the streets. People pushing to get close to Broadview ICE to stop the evil horrors inside & out. Regular people are throwing themselves into the path of danger daily & their reward is to have their health care taken away by rich cowards

I’m not saying this to look for validation but as a white person raised on the southwest side, this is my city they’re targeting at an intimate level. These children are never going to be the same. They’re witnessing this state violence constantly and it’s deeply unfair to every single one of them.

the group of handmaids made a slow procession to the “free speech” zone outside the broadview detention center.

they’re now silently standing in two rows, facing the building. many are holding red umbrellas that read “dissent is patriotic.”
