...blame all Democrats (whatever their race or gender) or anyone Trump is mad at. (Charlie Kirk). Of course, blaming the victim also is a key tactic, but that doesn't work so well when the victims are National Guard or Kirk.

I think there are at least 2 additional steps: if the suspect is a white male, try to insinuate (without evidence) that he is trans or a homosexual, or that he has been adversely impacted by "wokeness." Blame all trans people and those who support them. And they will try to...

Even if they say they are ordering in 500 more National Guard troops, where will they come from? Will they volunteer themselves, or will state governors order them to go? Or are there an extra 500 DC guard? What is the mission? What will "mission accomplished" look like?

Actually, I used to be on that same page; however, I’ve changed my mind. Impeachment allows Democrats to take the narrative and focus talk on the impeachable offenses. At the same time they should be talking about flipping Congress.
