A beautiful full moon on Lughnasadh.
Celebrate the first of the harvest festivals with friends & family, bake bread, share produce. What are you harvesting in your own life? What can you show gratitude for?

Last night was very cloudy but the almost full moon over the weekend was gorgeous (a hint of smoke from nearby fires gave the aura a hint of red)

With temperatures in Victoria heading back into the low 40⁰'s again, stopping at a paid caravan park for a few days is necessary with furry beasties in the van. Mains power=running the good AC. Stopped in a lovely town on a river with some scenic bike trails. Will hit one tomorrow before the heat

Found another pretty riverside spot to free-camp

Pretty spot to stop for the night. The weather is warm & the river is refreshing

Despite the cool change, there's been very little rain & fire restrictions are still in force across Victoria. Thankfully the smoke has cleared from the valley I'm currently in but a number of fires are still burning on the other side of the mountains. Travel plans will be assessed accordingly

My thoughts go out to the families, CFA & volunteers who have been battling the fires across Victoria for days in extreme temperatures. Homes are gone & a huge number of wildlife have perished.
A thick blanket of smoke covers much of the state, reminding us of the devastation of previous summers

She's here!
The Witches of Scotland designed this tartan as a living memorial to those who were persecuted in Scotland during the Witchcraft Act 1563 to 1736. The colours represent the dark times, ashes of those burned & tape used to bind the papers & the thread count incorporates the years.

Same sunset, looking different directions

The beasties have certainly made themselves at home while we're visiting the womb-nugget

Litha blessings to all in the south & a merry Yule to the northerners 🔥☀️

Dark moon, new moon & solstice.
This weekend has energy aplenty for your new start. Shed the old skin & rejoice in your new beginnings as we wind up the year.

Some of the week's scenery.
Typical of this part of the country, the weather has ranged from chilly blustery winds to scorching heat

Today's adventures included stopping for a local to cross safely

O mother of the sea
Lend me a wave that is strong and true
To carry me from this age which unbinds me.

Victoria's coastline has always been a treacherous route for ships. This one fell victim in the 1880's

Coastal sunset colours last night

Dance with the moon, my loves
Not just under it.
Dance like your ancestors

She's almost there. The summer Mead Moon is only a few days away. This final super moon of 2025 is a time to celebrate 🌕🍷🍓
December 3, 2025 at 11:11 AM
As a Victorian, we're accustomed to the weather extremes. But snow in the high country & hail storms with 11⁰ temperatures in December is just not right

When it's sunset on a warm day, the birds are zipping around & the breeze is blowing in from across the fields

I was fortunate to find this feather on my walk back. I suspect it's from a crimson rosella

Sitting by the river & enjoying the quiet accompanied by these beautiful birds hunting & chatting from the branches above me.

Stunning sunset tonight. It's nice to get a break from the rain. Especially when the colours are so pretty
