I study cultural burning, mostly in Australia, Canada and the US. Always looking to learn more.
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the flowers gone?
Young girls have picked them, every one
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?

Gone to flowers, every one
Oh, when will they ever learn?

Now it's 1963, the UK is supporting South Vietnam, and Dietrich is a headliner at the annual Royal Variety Performance. Before Queen Elizabeth, British royalty, and a huge TV audience, Dietrich speaks truth to power

And we'll become, and we'll become

And we'll become
Silhouettes when our bodies finally go
And we'll become (and we'll become, and we'll become)

And we'll become (and we'll become, and we'll become)
Silhouettes when our bodies finally go
And we'll become (and we'll become, and we'll become)

And feel something constant under my feet
But all the news reports recommended that I stay indoors
Because the air outside will make
Our cells divide at an alarming rate
Until our shells simply cannot hold
All our inside's in and that's when we'll explode
And it won't be a pretty sight

And I'm looking through the glass
Where the light bends at the cracks
And I'm screaming at the top of my lungs
Pretending the echoes belong to someone
Someone I used to know

And we become
Silhouettes when our bodies finally go

I wanted to walk through the empty streets

Their cheerily titled album Give Up includes this devastating anti-nuclear song, which starts out surprisingly gentle and becomes increasingly dissonant.

LYRICS

I've got a cupboard with cans of food
Filtered water and pictures of you
And I'm not coming out until this is all over

I live in the US, and I wouldn't expose my social media to enter any other country. I don't blame Australians, or anyone else, from looking at the US and saying, "Oh, *hell* no!" The World Cup should be interesting.

Many, if not most, Catholics are at odd with popes, in ways big and small. They use artificial contraception at a rate equal to or greater than non-Catholics. They approve of the death penalty. They don't go to church on holy days of obligation. They approve of gay marriage.

💯, but even worse than bad customer service is none. I had a Google issue, and there's NO support, just online troubleshooting, which, predictably, did not address the problem I was having. For many companies now, Reddit is a better source of information than the company itself.

Come on down
To the stompin' ground
Oh, won't you come on down?

CHORUS
So come on down
Come on down
To the stompin' ground
Come on down

Faces are glowin'
Strange music plays
Smoke adds distortion
In a magical way

Time passes freely
We're all passing through
A night 'round the campfire
Is gonna do it for you

CHORUS (x2)

Midnight Oil and Troy Cassar-Daley:
Society's enormous
Alienation breeds
Loneliness so sad
We need company

So get off those little screens
And find out what it all means
Gather 'round the campfire
The campfire of humankind
