Into Pride & Prejudice variations where Lizzy ruthlessly torments Darcy before inevitably falling for his ardent admiration?
There's also a Charlotte/Col. Fitzwilliam plot line and Wickham dies.

Am full of quesabirria and consome. How am I supposed to write rather than nap?
I may have made a strategic error...

Started to watch S3 Stranger Things. Saw Linda Hamilton's name in the credits and immediately said, "I hope she's a bad guy."
Watched e3 and beginning to suspect she's not, but playing a morally ambiguous character, which is appropriate for anyone that high up in the U.S. military.

Well I like that better. I put the first chapter of "A Darkness in Hertfordshire" into iwi.me and it clocked my style as being like Jane Austen's.
How that soothes my ego.

As a Regency writer, I ought to be more interested in the clothing of the period.
But as much as I try to get into the muslins, etc., all I really care about is my characters taking them off.

My 2016 Halloween costume (survivor of the Trumpocalypse) continues to get more prophetic.

My cat's at the vet today (tooth cleaning and fatty mass removal).
They're very competent and I'm not anxious, exactly. But I keep checking my phone...

Finally occured to me to check what Google's AI has to say about me, just in case I need to do damage control.
To my shock, its summary was completely accurate. A regurgitation of things I've posted, but accurate. 🤯

This morning someone misdelivered a bottle of Gatorade to our house. It has generated much consternation, and not that someone paid $3 to have a $3 bottle of sugar water delivered to them. We left it outside, hoping that whoever bought it will grab it. Got my door knocked on by someone

Hank Green just dropped an excellent vlog about value.
It's rare I hear anything meaningful about this fundamental concept, but he got it.

Got told my air fryer chicken tendies were "metal af" on Reddit.
Just strips of chicken thigh, egg wash then granulated, dried garlic. Not too garlicky at all.

It's now the fifth day of Christmas. If the birds from your true love are starting to pile up, now's the time for the restraining order before they start giving you humans.

The cat is giving me the gift of circling me, meowing, before jumping up to meow in my face.
She's a giver.

If you haven't yet read Kipling's paean to Jane Austen, please do.
Makes me cry, every time.

Happy 250th birthday, Jane Austen.
I'm spending the afternoon writing your characters doing things you never could, as a gentlewoman and a vicar's daughter.
I bless you from the bottom of my heart.

Looking for Christmas music that isn't graven into your consciousness by millions of replays?
"This Edris Night" by Heather Dale is just delightful. Deep cuts and original songs truly in the Christmas spirit.

As a journalism student, I took as much anthropology as they'd let me, all the way up to ANT 444: Sex, Death and Human Nature.
Prof warned us that we'd be exposed to material that would strip away our illusions about our culture and species. He was right.
Key for me was the pattern of human murder:

Someone posted a pic of an Evanescence album on vinyl.
Sits weird in my brain, like if someone had transcribed "Old Man's War" onto cuneiform tablets.

I read electrons. Ever since it became possible, my allegiance to print shifted irrevocably to the ease and convenience that is ebook/online reading. One of the reasons I decided to write JAFF is that it is

I mourn the passing of a legend: Leslie Fish.
She touched my life in so many ways. Her music was the only stuff that my mom ever played for me. She was one of the founders of the SCA. She jumpstarted fanfic writing (Kirk/Spock and Mad Max).
She went nutty in old age, but died peacefully. RIP
