On Friday I had the BEST chocolate cake I've ever had at a restaurant. Rosa's Cantina in Longmont, abuelita chocolate cake. Moist, light texture, not too sweet. Gotta have this again soon.

I'm not thrilled, but FWIW I'll offer this context from within the press release. (See full pic.) A rote, generic-ass 'well we're required to half staff the flag by presidential order. People should really stop shooting each other' as opposed to shit like Gavin Newsome's inexcusable fluff job.

A brief word on the Anthropic lawsuit. While I am happy at least some authors are getting a pittance, I am INCREDIBLY pissed that they allowed so many of us to be excluded in the settlement.

That's enough social media for today. As penance for only posting about upsetting things this morning, here are two pictures of Vergil that I think capture his range.

He's sticking his back legs out, he's curling his head around, he's giving his best sleep paralysis demon look. Not effectively pictured: while he's apparently stretched out on a blanket between my legs as I'm relaxing on my recliner, he's actually doing his level best to ooze off the end of the footrest like some kind of hairy, purring fluid.
