I find it interesting how there’s suddenly been a bunch of AI-generated photos of Trump going around on the social media pages for the White House. Is this their new thing? What are they trying to accomplish with these? Why do they continue to make them even after all the backlash received? #comm345

I’d say a lot of posts like these are harmless and don’t bother celebrities too bad. I also think a lot of them are used to being turned into memes online, so they would likely just be able to tune them out or laugh at them. However, memes can definitely go too far and hurt feelings as well #comm345

This is fascinating! It really shows how advanced artificial intelligence is becoming. This could also potentially help us be able to communicate with other types of animals. It’s refreshing to see AI used for something beneficial when there has been a lot of controversy with it lately! #comm345

I can’t believe it’s been 11 years already; I remember seeing it trend the first time and now it’s back! I think it’s really cool to watch it get used for a new cause, and seeing everyone get involved and have fun with it is very nostalgic! I wonder what other old trends will come back? #comm345

I’ve definitely caught myself! As someone who also runs a social media page for an organization, I’ve noticed how I’ve started curating my own personal feed as if I were marketing it too. I remember when I used to post casually all the time, and now I feel like I spend so much time editing #comm345

Something I find interesting relating to this is how dating apps are set up in a game-like structure, with the swipes and matches. Once I read about how swiping on these apps can release dopamine into the brain, which turns dating into a sense of a game and can dehumanize the experience. #comm345

I think a lot of times when politicians claim “fake news,” they actually mean unwanted truth, especially when a news source is portraying a political figure in a bad light. However, sometimes these news sources can portray disinformation as well, so it’s important to fact-check sources. #comm345

I think that in some cases, the online communities would play a part in being harmful with spreading memes; algorithms and biases do filter out other types of content so those users would only be seeing a certain type of memes catered to their content rather than a well-rounded feed #comm345

Wow, that’s wild! It reminds me of those online games where you couldn’t use free chat and only had a certain series of phrases to choose from. I think this could potentially, if implemented enough, cause people to say the AI comments IRL, making for less meaningful and impersonal responses #comm345

I think social media has been very a beneficial part of movements! In recent years, it has helped raise awareness to issues, as well as let people have a support system from anywhere in the globe. Without social media, a lot of movements wouldn’t have gotten as much traction as they did. #comm345
