Counted 11 #mergansers on the Thames River while on my walk today! DYK - a merganser on land is likely stranded. Its legs are so far back on its body that it can't gain enough speed to take off. It needs a runway of water. The things you learn from #volunteering at @salthavenwildlife.bsky.social.

Thinking about my beautiful grandma today, pictured on her wedding day. I never got to know her as a woman. She died when I was just 10. But I have no doubt we would have been good friends. That she would be a confidant & help me navigate life’s ups and downs. Miss you grandma. Aš tave myliu.
