Some people are saying it was the green netting they put over the scaffolding.

Sure, but the underground bit was underground, and it was the first in the world to do that.

It used to go through a tunnel in Liverpool, the world’s first public transport tunnel.

This one is the biggest downside for me, mainly because it was buried in the small print, and introduced with no notice

The Liverpool and Manchester Railway was the first underground railway in 1830. It now takes a different alignment so the Metropolitan Railway is the oldest still in operation.

Ireland and Northern Ireland maybe, but there is only 0.1 mm difference between the EU (1435 mm) and British (4' 8.5" or 1435.1 mm) guages, and tracks are not laid to anything like that level of tolerance, so it makes no practical difference.

Lets suppose there was some medical invention in the future that allowed cis men to become pregnant. My reading of the Equality Act where pregnancy is a separate category to sex would suggest that such a man would already have protection from discrimination should he choose to take advange of it.
November 16, 2025 at 3:34 PM
My answer to that is that pregancy is listed as a separate protected characteristic to sex. So, just like how disabled people (another separately listed catagegory) can be men, women, or whatever; there is no reason why the same can't apply to pregant people.

There's people who use Oyster because they are entitled to reduced fares and paying full Adult fare on contactless would be more expensive.

But GWR require you to have separate cards for pay as you go and season tickets in places like Bristol where they offer pay as you go, and people who are entitled to discounted fares (children for example) can't really use regular contactless.
