Both my siblings and my husband’s siblings decided to just do gifts for nieces and nephews this year, and it has helped so much. It’s fun thinking of gifts for each other so I miss it a little, but mostly it’s been a relief. One of my kids has a December birthday though, so I’m still overwhelmed.

My 3yo used “discombobulated” correctly (but still in cute toddler speech) in a sentence the other day, and it was delightful.

I do not, but I do check the oven every time I turn it on anyway. My mom also does this even though she also does not store things in there.

Highly recommend this. We got a new kitten when my oldest was 2, and she is the most patient cat I’ve ever encountered. She just looked at me when my youngest literally crawled over her as a baby (bc this is the internet, I got the kid off the cat quickly, everyone was fine!).

I don’t think I’ve pressured anyone about that, even siblings.
Some of our good friends who had a baby before we did kind of pressured us, but it mostly was in the vein of “you’re over here with us and our kid all the time anyway, might as well have your own!” and never felt awkward.

I use (blanched) fresh green beans instead of canned for my green bean casserole. It doesn’t help with adding acid, but it does make that dish less mushy.

I will say it’s not as nice as the Rainbow one my parents have had for about 30 years, but Rainbow was not in the budget.

We got a PlayStar one from Menards that we put together, but they sell them assembled as well. We’ve been happy with it so far and it survived a move! Menards may only be in the Midwest, but maybe other places carry it?

I somehow destroyed a soup pot with an immersion blender years ago and I’ve been terrified to use one since. My soup game is lacking because there’s no way I’m going to pour or ladle hot soup into a blender, but I don’t want to ruin another pot trying the immersion blender again either. 😫

I got the Jeep wagon before my 2nd was born and hardly ever use it. We maybe took it to the zoo once and I’d use it on walks in our old neighborhood some. I never would’ve tried taking it to a pumpkin patch though, that sounds awful. Pretty sure I just wore my youngest while my oldest walked. 🤷🏼♀️

I had a furby that started talking from a tall shelf in the middle of the night. I was obviously freaked out, so I took out the batteries and threw it away. It woke me up later that night talking from the trash can WITHOUT BATTERIES! Haunted is not a word I use often, but that thing was haunted.

Apparently you can get in at 9 with the membership that gives you money back! Disclaimer that I only just upgraded to that one and haven’t tested it yet, but it may be worth asking next time you go.
