Been on a transhumanism, futurism, AI, and philosophy of tech reading binge and now I'm reading Heidegger, and philosophers are so funny.

...To answer the question of the meaning and purpose and values of technology, first we must answer the question of what becoming means...

Tomorrow, there will be oral arguments in a major SCOTUS case on transgender sports.

At least, that's how it's being reported everywhere.

But it's not just about sports. The ruling could change transgender rights for a generation, and impacts EVERYTHING.

Tomorrow's SCOTUS Case Is Not Just About Transgender Sports; Ruling Could Impact All Trans Rights
Though much of the reporting on the Little v. Hecox court case is about transgender sports participation, the SCOTUS ruling could impact all rights of transgender people.

It appears that some members of the Democratic Party are supporting KOSA.

The act purports to be about protecting children, but it could weaponize Trump's FTC to target LGBTQ+ content on the internet.

I find it racist that Black trans women are being left without heat and people are not rushing to help. When a group that already faces constant violence, poverty, and neglect is ignored in moments of basic survival, that is not accidental it reflects whose lives are valued and whose are not.

When we face dangerous or uncertain times, it becomes even more important to turn toward one another rather than inward. Fear and instability can make the world feel smaller and harsher, but community has the power to widen our perspective and remind us that we are not alone. #InSolidarity

I think it's crazy that some on the left see the right beginning to muse about ending the filibuster and thinking it's a good thing.

They would consolidate power in such a way that makes Dems coming back unfeasible.

I'm glad the anti-trans ads aren't working in Virginia, but Spanberger's position on bathroom rights for trans students is literally "depends where you live."

From the campaign: “support[ing] a bill that would put clear provisions in place that provide a lot of local ability for input.”

I hate it.
Spanberger can't even bring herself to defend trans people when she's directly asked. I don't think she'll care much about this.

"Well, I don't think we're gonna necessarily ask for a declaration of war. I think we're just gonna kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. Okay? We're gonna kill them. You know, they're gonna be, like, dead. Okay? Yeah."

Trump has abandoned even the pretext of following the law.

For what it’s worth, the agreement - while very bad - is much less targeted towards trans students than I have seen in other college agreements. There is no definition of sex, no explicit bans (but one sort of implicit convoluted one), and even leaves an out for “relevant court decisions.”
Breaking News: The University of Virginia struck an agreement with the White House to remove the threat of a federal investigation, part of a Trump pressure campaign. It's the first public university to do so. nyti.ms/3Wgo2JR
