Naaa, keep them looong! :0
But I feel that. I got several comments about my alien hand anatomy not looking like a "correct" human hand... there are many wise ppl out there it seems.

Lmao, I love that.
Male kids just have adorable little nubs :> Yeah, Zhaikes was adorable once...

In general, the Zhor Khat are hesitant to mix their bodies too much with mechanical parts. Another (long extinct) species did that and it didn't go well.

The hormone injection is neat! Are your prostheses a mix of bio and mech then?

biological "prosthesis" becomes a fully functioning part of the body.

They do combine mechanical and biological "parts" as well, but that's usually reserved for non-sentient creations aka bio-robots.

You're asking the right questions, haha.
Congenital amputees do not exist, Zhor Khat grow their offspring in the lab, in a very controlled manner. If there are errors, they are immediately corrected.

So yes, they can grow and regrow body parts too and reattach them. After some time, the

Loool, the two left hands had me wheezing :'')
It probably wasn't that funny back then, but it makes a good story 🤍

I forgot: Having a "complete" body is like a basic right in their society, so, it's a special kind of ableism, I guess xD

something untreated or incomplete is simply not done. (Yes, yes, Zhaikes is damaged and doesn't treat it, that's very unusual for the Zhor Khat, but he has his reasons... and it *was* frowned upon when he first showed up like this.)
January 12, 2026 at 11:02 PM
Yeah, the Zhor Khat are messed up for a couple of reasons xD Most of my species are..

That's difficult to pinpoint. Incompleteness is not "horrible" or "pitied". It's just very unusual and a little "weird" as the Zhor Khat have the capabilities to fix almost any medical issue. Keeping

Very curious haha
I'm a little sad that he is mentioned only a couple of times in the first book and only makes an *actual* appearance very late in the story (technically it would be the third book, lol), but I love this dude xD

being incomplete. Symmetry is generally considered more attractive than asymmetry, but it's not that relevant. What is relevant is the missing body part and being physically damaged. Both, mental and physical strength is very important to the Zhor Khat, so they usually keep their bodies "complete".
