Since we are the Nation most harmed by Gambling in the 🌏 and our Government is doing nothing to stop this, I will keep working to equip people with new knowledge and understanding of this issue to combat the current status quo. I’m very grateful to have been able to chat with the amazing Daniel Bullen who started @addictedrecovery podcast and talk about gambling harm and the way it impacts our communities www.facebook.com/share/17TvKv...

This is an intentionally predatory environment that rewards a few by facilitating the financial destruction of so many. 😔

Coral said it takes its commitments to responsible gambling "extremely seriously"

Maybe THIS is what they mean by "responsible gambling"......

More than HALF of 🇦🇺’s gas exports are given away with no royalty, no PRRT, no meaningful company tax

Norway taxes oil & gas heavily so has a $2.8 trillion sovereign wealth fund.
We have $1 trillion of debt.

We need urgent PRRT reform to stop the great gas giveaway

Albanese is crying poor, but we’re losing billions a year from untaxed gas
In Norway, they tax their oil and gas industry heavily and give their kids free higher education. Here, we do the opposite.

Any which way you slice it, there is NO justification for allowing this predatory industry to keep financially exploiting our communities, it is a Government endorsed wealth transfer into the pockets of a few, enough is enough.
The cost to the NSW govt for dealing with the impacts of gambling harm far outweigh the massive taxes they take from pokies. It’s a price they are prepared for us all to pay to do the gambling industry’s bidding. ⁦ @peterfitz1.bsky.social

This man could cull the number of ‘misery machines’ in NSW. But he won’t
Residents lost $2.17billion to poker machines in the first quarter of 2025. This has consequences.

Good comment; good article in Guardian. Anything less than implementation of Murphy committee recommendations on advertising will be clear concession by government that gambling industry lobbying matters more than public health and wellbeing.

The question I’m asked most when I give keynotes and corporate presentations on gambling harm is ‘But how come government hasn’t stopped this from happening?’
It sickens me to have to tell them our public servants are not serving the public, they are protecting this predatory industries profits.

for bravely sharing your story once again. Political inaction on pokies harm is a barometer for the level of state capture by the gambling industry. www.smh.com.au/politics/nsw...
Whether it’s Liberal or Labor, the people in charge are beholden to the pokies industry
The first time Kate Seselja used a poker machine she won $1000. It was the last time she left a venue with cash in her hand from the addictive machines.

The impact of influences selling out to gambling companies has exposed a whole new cohort of people, especially women to gambling harm that were never even looking for it to begin with. It is the Wild West and we are failed by governments to be protected from this predatory industry.

I cannot fathom the motivation of the Greens to support this.

Every presentation I give I am asked - “why is the government not doing anything?” I have no answer. There is no logical ethical or socially responsible reason for this failure act.

We have been politically abandoned for greed.
Disappointing to see the Greens supporting a partial gambling ad ban.

Partial bans enable the gambling industry to fuel demand for their products through a permissive approach to advertising.

They DO NOT protect children and young people.
