That's fair and fine. I've always been a debate kid, which is a kind of sickness, and have spent a lot of time engaging with conservatives in exasperating attempts at rational arguments. I don't recommend that as a good use of anyone's time, but it did teach me a lot about how sticky ideology is.

Language around Latino identity in the US is so complex, like, there are regional, ethnic and generational preferences. Some people reject chafe at the desire to generalize, others see political utility… i wouldn’t vibe check someone based on that alone. They’ll show their ass some other way.
