Hi! I’m Kate, an author of sapphic fiction with Black Mirror vibes, dark and twisty, and a dash of slow-burn obsession. Expect forbidden love, morally grey characters, and powerful older women who really shouldn’t fall for their pretty protégé... Your dose of oolala wlw.

It’s a thrill that bubbles inside you when you hear someone voice your novel – a professional voice artist who can characterise some 15 different characters, someone able to capture what you’ve only ever heard in your head. I can’t wait to share the talents of @katevoice.bsky.social this summer!

Writing fiction in first person for the first time feels oddly freeing, much more intimate, and has ultimately helped me to write faster. I’m enjoying how voice-y I can make my prose, giving it a sense of style so different to my third person novels. Which POV do you prefer?

I heavily plotted my first two novels because it gave me a sense of direction, but I’m giving pantsing a whirl this time around. It’s fun! But I’m only managing it because I understand plot structure. What a difference that has made in helping me turn ideas into stories. Which method do you prefer?
