On UK news it said US is planning to require 5yrs social media posts before we can enter US. In the current US political climate that suggests anyone who criticises Trump could be barred. All the same I'd like to say I agree with the person who said DJT is a pig. It's heartbreaking to watch ur pain

I've just read The Left Hand of Darkness and got half way through then had to start again because of me inability to keep up with who and where but it was absolutely worth it.

It's sickening. And it's exactly what we all knew would happen. Fuck all.

I only ever write in bed because my disability means that's the least worst place for me in terms of pain and the ability to focus. I did a retreat once and had to go to my room to write or just not be in discomfort - not sure it was worth the large amount of money i paid.

is it essential though?

I once had a dream where I had a spider in my mouth and had to go to work, where I couldn't speak because the spiders legs dangled out when I opened my mouth. It's taken me years to get over the spider/mouth dream and stop thinking about it. Now I'm thinking about it.

I grew up poor in 1950s UK - poverty was a shameful thing then. It still is. Once I understood that poverty was not my fault I've described myself as poor. I'm neither happy nor ashamed about that description, In UK my family are working class and poor. I've never thought of myself as lower class.

Place names are fascinating, aren't they. In Cumbria there's a lot of association with Viking words- place and family names in particular. That sense of belonging, or not, to a place - however it arrives, via a name, a mark on a map or a path - has accupied me for as long as i can remember

I've seen that map - it's wonderful!
