Build more public housing and make changes to our tax system to disincentivise the investment market.
Housing needs to be affordable. Many people don't have children because of affordability and cost of living, and housing is the biggest cost.

Hmm I know.
But I think the ABC do have to log and report on the number of complaints...

What is the point of traveling to America if there's a chance you may be deported or put in detention?
That is not a country that seems to want people visiting.

Could members of the public not have called the ABC and clogged up their switchboards in response to it being pulled?

Wow.
Even younger than Payman and she said skibidi in a senate speech (which I don't understand, I am an old fuddy duddy millennial).

This is very strange.
But even odder is that people read these and still don't think there is a problem.

Does that mean you will still write pieces for @michaelwest.com.au.web.brid.gy ?
I would imagine we'll still see you pushing for much needed transparency and FOI's.

I think this point could be made by Labor a bit louder.
May 23, 2025 at 6:33 AM
Ok.
Because this discussion is complicated, and I'm learning and that's why I'm asking these questions.
May 23, 2025 at 6:21 AM
Ok, so what I want to know is does Labor's proposal help to stop this sort of rort?
Does it make sense to tax unrealised gains?
Or am I misunderstanding something? At first glance that particular bit doesn't make sense to me...

Need more popcorn...
May 23, 2025 at 6:05 AM
No I'm not worried about ever having that much in super. I know it is ridiculously out of reach for someone like me, what I would like to understand is why Labor's policy is about taxing unrealised gains. I'd like to understand the rationale of this.

That's really good.
This means the gender make up of our parliament is now a lot more representative of the gender make up of the country.
I hope that translates to changes in terms of how we do politics as well as better policy where it comes to issues that impact women more.
