It's also nice to see really good looking guys yearn, flirt, kiss like they mean it, and repeatedly ask about consent and comfort. A much-needed visual escape from all the depressing news, doomscrolling, and constant layoffs this year.

Being intense is understood as a necessary and fundamental aspect of playing a professional sport like hockey, but something that women are repeatedly told not to be in their personal and professional lives. The show also inspires and rewards intense attention from fans, even for small details.

I cannot emphasize how much this gesture of friendship and kindness meant to me. Nothing was too small for them to do, sort or figure out. Mail piles, old makeup and skincare, reporter notebooks, office clothes, books, receipts, stuff I hadn't touched in years. All of it sorted and dealt with.

This is also a big reason I only did true crime reporting once, because the story took two years to report but podcasters and YouTube content creators kept using huge chunks of it and I would only find out later.
