My eldest didn't start school & uniform until 5yo. My youngest started nursery class the same week, 3yo, which had an 'optional' uniform. I bought him 1 sweatshirt, to wear when he chose. He wore it rarely and enjoyed his individuality. He's 25 now and still enjoys not conforming!
