Lifelong Democrat, mostly liberal and progressive, sometimes contrarian, which is a polite way of saying grumpy. Also an introvert who would rather write than talk.
It’s not even his age. He’s a sexual abuser. Nobody wants to vote for someone with his baggage.

Does he really like humiliating defeats? Nobody wants to vote for this serial sexual abuser and harasser of women. His time is up.

Exactly. I knew an enlisted soldier who during the Gitmo scandal was furious about those soldiers’ unbecoming conduct in torturing inmates at Guantanamo. She told me every soldier is told not to obey illegal orders. She was outraged by those soldiers.

Exactly. Ironically, it was the U.S., in 1945, in Nuremberg who established that precedent. This is not new or controversial. It’s what we’ve followed since then.
November 25, 2025 at 5:05 PM
Modest suggested change. Dems need to say “You must refuse illegal orders.”

The military has a legal obligation, not a choice, to refuse illegal orders.

“I was just following orders,” isn’t a valid defense in court.

don’t have to pay pensions or taxes for Social Security.

Remember everyone, if they are lucky, will grow old. And life goes by quicker than you think.

Don’t let grifters like Ben Shapiro steal your future retirement benefits just so billionaires can get richer.
November 25, 2025 at 4:54 PM
But then along comes some corporate shill Republican who thinks that seniors shouldn’t be able to retire. Never mind many are actually forced out.

Ultimate solution is old people should just quietly eat cat food in poverty until they conveniently die so rich corporations

Once let go, older people have a much harder time finding new jobs. Age discrimination in hiring makes it extremely hard to find work.

Young people also want older people to retire so they can move up to better jobs themselves. Otherwise they are stuck with no upward mobility.
November 25, 2025 at 4:54 PM
This is profoundly dishonest. Age discrimination is real. People approaching retirement age are the first to be let go in any layoff. Corporations want to replace them with younger, less experienced, cheaper labor.
November 25, 2025 at 4:54 PM
They’ve been talking about this since Trump’s election. They know it’s coming.

You can’t follow an illegal, unconstitutional order and use the defense that you were just following orders.

Ironically, it was America that established that at Nuremberg.

He is right. Miller is counting on giving illegal orders. But not only does the military have “a right to refuse” they actually have an obligation to refuse.

Everyone in the military, down to the lowest enlisted person, understands the concept of not following illegal orders. They are taught this.

closed ranks to protect and shield their wealthy, privileged cronies.

To do nothing is to make a choice too.

a whistle, report something unsavory was going on, or even tried to reach out to help even one of these girls escape their abuse.

Even the people who didn’t participate directly did nothing to stop it. They share culpability because the signs were everywhere.

The most privileged in society

As for Obamacare, it really does have problems. Obama couldn’t get a public option passed in 2008. Conservative Dems Ben Nelson and Joe Lieberman, with heavy insurance corporations tied. blocked it.

We really need Medicare for All now.
November 19, 2025 at 10:43 PM
For some hope. Americans seem to be rejecting Trump’s attempts to cover up the Epstein scandal in droves. His approval ratings are lower than Obama’s ever were and Obama is still by far one of our most popular, respected former presidents.

You’re a good man
November 19, 2025 at 12:51 AM
Yeah, this was the conspiracy theory Sydney Powell fed to Trump in the Oval Office. This is the kraken she threatened to unleash.

So my spidey sense and ability to make connections isn’t so crazy after all.

How is this not predatory on his part?

A 16 year old is a minor. Legally, she’s unable to give consent because she’s too young to make that decision.

Plus, there’s a power asymmetry. He’s an adult teacher of 22, she’s a student, even if she’s not his student. She’s a 16 y.o.subordinate. There’s a 6 year age difference.
