Remember that discord previously had a data breach on their customer support, with over 70,000 Government IDs stolen. So I'd personally wouldn't trust them handing out my ID.

It's genuinely a horrible idea privacy-wise, as you are literally forcing people to hand over IDs, or worse - your face, to companies which have proven time and time again, that they are incapable of keeping your information safe.
