More drawing practice, I tried to draw Elaine Auclair (Trails beyond the Horizon) 😌
Trying to improve how I draw by first outlining the silhouette with a big brush to see the overall impression. It went pretty well but my lunch break ended before I could clean up the sketch 😅

When I first started drawing and didn't have the knowledge, I tried my best to draw Elaine Auclair via reference. Back then I thought it was pretty close but now I can definitely see the improvement points 🤔

The cover illustration is amazing and I really like the smaller size of the book, making it easier to refer to when drawing.

Wanted to try to improve my drawing speed so I challenged myself to draw the head on my phone as fast as possible and it took me about an hour (just nice for my office lunch break).
Probably need another 1-2 redraws to get the balance right but it was a good practice 😌

On X, back in Jun 2025, I started a monthly summary of my illustrations with the goal to self reflect—to identify what went well and focus points to work on next. Ideally, this will help to set small achievable goals and lead to overall improvement.

Decided to have the prosthetic arm fully visible for the character design 😌
Next will be working to finalize the finer details e.g., prosthetic arm design, clothing and accessories. But just this concept art should help me in writing as well 🙏
