I occasionally checked the r/conservative subreddit to see how they interpret Trump’s decisions. I was particularly interested in this one knowing how much they hate Rosie O’Donnell.

This is the top comment. 1/

As someone who lived in Venice for years, it gives me a weird sort of pride to see Venetians gives Bezos a dose of reality.

The protest (6/28) looks amazing as a kind of counter-party planned in four locations with music and installations. They’ll be protesting in the squares, alleys, and canals.

I just learned that an early form of hair removal involved grinding up “cats dung” and mixing it with strong vinegar to create a really unpleasant paste.

He loves Les Miserables. His Big Boy Birthday Parade was inspired by Bastille Day.

And you just know that if anyone ever tried to explain what happened during the French Revolution—and to the king in particular—he’d just clap with delight like a toddler.

This tweet reminds me of what AI can’t do.

Language is a means of expression. A tool. A weapon. And here, JCO handles that weapon like a pro to deliver a blistering observation.

Writers aren’t word generators, they’re observers (and not just). Words happen to be the medium of choice.

(I’ve got manhood and meat on the brain because I recently watched the Liver King doc and it reminded me of late 19th-century ads for meat extracts as a kind of manly cure-all.)

Wow. Not only did I just learn a new word, I learned that it’s the bird equivalent of this:

I was fascinated by this, so I went ahead and looked up the other Yule Lads, which led me to the amazing Yule Cat (Jólakötturinn).

The Yule Cat lurks in the snowy countryside and eats people who don’t receive new clothes by Christmas eve.

Specifically, he noted that bald eagles were easily bullied by a much smaller bird known as the kingbird (T. tyrannus).

He didn’t think that was a great metaphor considering they’d just run all the “kingbirds” out of their own country.

Just now noticing that some of the hydroxychloroquine side effects might turn you in a conspiracy theorist.

This list of side effects is from the Mayo Clinic: www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supple...

Whenever ivermectin mentioned, it makes me laugh because you can buy it at any ag supply. We have it for our chickens.

And as someone with lupus, I’ve become a health freak in the hope that I won’t ever need to take hydroxychloroquine. Some of the side effects are pure body horror.

This goes to show how eager I was to find a Twitter alternative.

(I also have a deep burning hatred of Facebook and everything it’s touched, so I’m very grateful Bluesky exists and happy to see it thriving.)
