I think that was mostly cause llms though
like right now I can just put a bunch of scripts inside a folder and be like "claude retag everything for me thx bye"
basically killed off a lot of my custom workflows

yeah, I think it was probably not optimized / time well spent, I spent all that time getting really in the weeds with .org / roam then just got annoyed and started using obsidian

yeah, my nvim I just use lazy
big issue with emacs is since it's reflective you end up writing lisp to customize tons of behavior - I did more writing stuff in grad school so had custom parser for .bib, LaTex blah blah etc.

I used to use it mostly for .org notetaking and such but man, keeping up my config became a second job
