I think something that people keep missing is Blue no matter who is for the general. NOT the primary.

You are correct, though we do have the flashbacks for the heralds that show them younger (which is probably easier than preventing aging). In the grander Cosmere we also have the Returned and the shard vessels that don't age for extended timelines.
