I just learned about Kendo Nagasaki 2 years ago from the Wrestle Me podcast (American, old British wrestling is largely unknown here). What an inspiring and impressive person. And I didn’t know he had a YouTube channel until now, thanks!

There might be some validity to this. As a fan of Mobile Suit Gundam, Andrew WK is my favorite English musician in the fandom. However, while his music exists on YouTube, I’ve never seen a disc of it at any anime con I’ve been to (and I’ve looked!) maybe its all a ruse…

Awesome! Pumped to see a VCF so close to home, especially after missing all of them this year. Can’t wait!

Just got PC-FXGA up and running recently. Totally worth it, its just so bizarre and works quite well. And there might even be a good game for it!

I archived the drivers for it here after some hours tracking them down, since most of the info out there is for DOS-V: archive.org/details/pc-f...

All jokes aside, this is one of the best bootleg games I’ve played. Not that that’s saying much. I particularly like the ripoff Final Fantasy 4 music in it.

Also, tangentially related, I found it while streaming live on Twitch. Now if I didn’t have an awful noise gate set up, I would have had a good reaction clip too. Oh well, next time.

Going into this knowing nothing about the game, I expected something totally different. Instead, you showed a game right up my alley! Going to give the Famicom translation a go. Also, the Kojima seeing Jesus joke (and that whole segment) was A+

I read somewhere recently that Lou was wonderful to work with but couldn’t act at all. Couldn’t do things like deliver lines differently and whatnot. I think thats what makes it so endearing though. Captain Lou is the REAL Mario to me!

Only did a floppy install once. It was enough.

I loved this era of fan translations. I have memories of my friends and I finding a translation rom of FFIII and laughing at the “Onio Kid” job at the start. Even the bad/incomplete translations were magical!
