There are many enclosures that need levelling.

90% of kids at Dulwich are day students. There’s a lot more boarders at the more elite private schools like Eton and Harrow I think.

I was a day pupil not a boarder so I went home to my family every day. Boarding would have been much worse and was generally for the rich international students.

Let me tell you, ‘casteist’ would be a perfectly appropriate word to describe British private schools too. They train the kids of rich people. The only non rich people are clever or sporty kids on bursaries.

I genuinely think these kind of schools damage anyone who is a sensitive artist type because they are mercenary places that were built to train men to be colonial administrators. Abolish private schools.

The worst people stayed behind after school to cosplay as the army in Combined Cadet Force training. That’s what led to Farage marching around some village chanting Hitler Youth songs.

Every person I respect who went to my school hated it too. If you liked it, you were probably some kind of popular rugby bro who went into finance.

All boys private schools are evil, hierarchical places that teach you to hide your emotions as weakness, objectify women and institutionalise homophobia. They should be abolished if you ask me.

I remember there was a big fight between two kids (one of whom was Jewish) because the other kid wished him ‘Happy Holocaust Day’ on the international day of remembrance. Kids used to sexually harass teachers…

There's lots of empty land in the UK, but it's not being built on because it's in the private hands of rich people who, again, benefit from the housing crisis by being landlords. The French Revolution, at least, redistributed land more widely. Britain is stagnant because the rich hoard land.
November 24, 2025 at 3:54 PM
Zooming out from the proximal causes of the housing crisis and council budgets, the UK's land ownership is monumentally unequal. 1% of the population owns 50% of the land, and we don't even know who owns 20% of Britain because the land hasn't been bought and sold for more than 100 years.

It's also, of course, because Thatcher capped the rates (council tax) that councils were allowed to charge residents, meaning that they couldn't raise the money to invest in their housing stock, and so we've not built any council housing in London for decades.
November 24, 2025 at 3:51 PM
Those slum landlords can charge extortionate prices because all the councils are competing against each other for the same poor housing. This is because Thatcher closed the GLC in 1986 (which had London-wide authority on housing), and made it the responsibility of councils.

Good luck to him. Making any money from writing is hard.

Probably best to arrest first and ask questions later in case they’re concealing a cute, miniature AR15.
