Same mostly harmless tax nerd, cynic & petrolhead; same character-lite handle. Occasional music & cat content.
(A lot of the problem was that the Court of Appeal agreed with HMRC that replacing the words “Isle of Man” with “Guernsey” in documentation that the ECJ had already held didn’t create the desired VAT impact vis a vis UK/IoM wasn’t enough to remedy the deficiencies in the structure)

Had a client many years ago (also in gaming industry) which also tried to reduce its VAT exposure by inserting Channel Islands entities into its structure.
They too tried to persuade HMRC that there were valid commercial reasons for it.
They failed.

bsky.app/profile/jv8p.... (I think this was prompted by a data leak somewhere, but the parallels run deep)
Something that's been on my mind recently:

Yeah, but you have to get Skinny or it streaks something terrible on the screen.

That’s an ear worm I’ll forgive you for.

Absolutely. The sheer amount of air they can shift makes for an awesome experience, and there are plenty of Anglican hymns (my background) which complement it perfectly.

I've not looked into it properly, but given the Abyssinian church significantly predated the development of European cathedrals I suspect that drums have more claim to be "authentic" (whatever that might mean) worship instruments than the organ.

I like that St Paul may well have heard an organ being played, and would never dream of it being used in Christian worship. It was 1,000 years before any branch of the Christian church adopted it (which is why I don't pay much heed to people who insist only organ music is appropriate in church)

I was slightly taken aback first time I found a London pub selling a Trappist triple by the pint. (was a works do and they were paying so I may have indulged…)

Maybe they've got a Jurassic Park tie-in in the works and this is part of the teaser campaign?

Surrey, "Half two" if it's a description, "two thirty pee emm" if it's an appointment.

Oh.
This could be the end of my Bluesky journey, as I don't really do selfies and certainly can't manage "cute".

25-30 years? You've reminded me of this from another place...
