Joined a local Bmax tourney earlier today and ran the Type 5 in four out of six rounds. First couple runs didn't go so well as there was a sharp curve after making it through a jump cut, so I had to adjust dampers and brake sponges to compensate.

Didn't quite make it to round 2 for the fun race earlier today, but got faster at tuning the Type 5 to the right specs for the track. Figured out the last two issues on my last run: batteries were undervolted and the Sprint Dash inside lost most of its torque.

Going live in about 30 minutes to tune up some Tamiya mini 4WD kits. Prepping for a Bmax race tomorrow, and I'll probably be focusing on the Type 5 and VZ kits. Just gotta get some errands at home done.

Going live in about 30 minutes to tune up some Tamiya mini 4WD kits. Prepping for a Bmax race tomorrow, and I'll probably be focusing on the Type 5 and VZ kits. Just gotta get some errands at home done.

Assembled the VS Neo-VQS chassis & attachments beforehand, but finally spraypainted and cut out the cowl, attached the stickers, and installed the body catches earlier today. Looks ready for Box Stock racing. I'll be testing it against my Ray Spear next time I drop by the track.

Dropped by the track earlier today with some friends. Went to a different branch of the hobby shop this time and, with the monthly track layout change, the Type 5 did surprisingly well without any adjustments. A buddy says the new layout is "diabolical" because of all the jumps.

Dropped by the track again last weekend and worked on both the Type 5 and VZ. Type 5 was more stable as VZ is still in prototyping stages, but VZ was running noticeably faster.

So, entered three categories for the tourney last weekend: box stock, our local version of BMAX, and stock advance.
Box stock was my best shot, and only with a Ray Spear assembled on the spot.
Local BMAX was the most difficult with the Eiger.

Finally managed to drop by the track again to prep for the Stock Advance tourney this coming Sunday. Decided to go with the Super XX for now and I've been working on a shark-like design for the Laser Gill cowl. Testing on the kit itself didn't start out too well.

Been a hot minute since I've managed to post anything Tamiya-related, or anything here for that matter. I'll have to catch up with the past month or two of progress soon. In the meantime, a friend recently got me into playing the new horsegirl game and rarely do I get this salty.

Haven't been consistently able to drop by the track the past week or two with how busy work and family obligations kept me, but managed to drop by for a bit earlier. No time to take photos, unfortunately, but I did manage to revive the Type 5 after the cowl broke last time.

First time in a couple weeks I've had the time and energy to drop by the track with a hectic work schedule. Track was really impressive yesterday, since it seemed like they combined pieces from two different branches.

Got lucky with a second summon ticket for the latest banner and, lo and behold, it's a random Jalter.

Ended up dropping by the track again earlier today, but no photos, just a video. Mostly tested the Super Shooting Star today with changes such as raising the upper rear rollers, then swapping them out for 19mm rubber ringed rollers, & swapped the motor to a broken in Power Dash.

Dropped by the track last Saturday with some buds and had some help retuning the Super XX ship of Theseus. Ran a bit better, but still had some trouble around tight turns/corners.

Was busy taking care of my grand dad the past week, so I finally managed to drop by the track yesterday. Forgot to remove the tape covering front & rear brakes from the ship of Theseus, so the fin of my blue Phantom Blade cowl snapped off again. Swapped to the Laser Gill cowl.

Dropped by the track yesterday and ran the ship of Theseus for its initial test run of the day. Was speedy as all hell but lacked a little more stability. Ended up having to lower the front brakes using thin spacers, then reinforced the front FRP with the DARs.

Fixed up the ship of Theseus' newest front FRP adding down thrust with a longer countersunk screw and lock nut, so it should hold better. Previous iteration was already stable at a 4:1 gear ratio, so we can go... FASTER. Switched back to 3.5:1 for testing later.

Finally got to sit down for a bit and document stuff for the changelog. Changed out the front dampers for a block/brick type for more consistent weight, moved the rear dampers to the rear brake stay, and changed the high-mount tube stabilizers to 11mm bowl rollers.
