I’m at school today until roughly 8pm! I remembered my lunch for once - this is a big achievement. 😌 I’m trying to put a little time into all my classwork and *boy* have I got a heavy load.

Here’s the source of much stress relief. 💜

I’ve taken up needle-felting as an alternative hobby to reduce my time on screens (thank you post-covid photosensitivity)

My first project was a little trinket kitty modeled after my sweet boy, Max. 🥰 He’s a Christmas present for a dear friend who loves him very much.

i am so happy by the response to my last post! i wasn't expecting it but i will happily make an effort to post nuggie updates and photos. cat photos will likely make it in there from time to time. ;)

for now, my #bird buddy, as promised!

the better thing about life right now is that i have this amazing cat who utterly adores me and it’s hard to surpass that.

Anyone down to repost the last song that was playing on your phone?

I don’t really know anything this to be honest - I was playing a station to do homework to.

i want to be more frequent posting here, but it’s going to take some time to get used to being social media active. i mostly lurk in other sites. 🫣 anyway have a cat because that never hurts.

That was in May. Needless to say, Nuggie is a permanent member of our family now and is a delight to have in my life. However, it's important to remember that he is a wild animal who is only living in captivity because his feet are too deformed for him to survive in the wild.

I found him not three feet from my front door. My husband dedicated most of his time for the next two weeks to watching after Nuggie, from feeding him via syringe every couple hours to meticulously keeping track of the temperature so he didn't get too cold (no feathers yet!) 2/

This is Nuggie! I'll post about him pretty frequently. He is a common European house sparrow. Sparrows are classified as vermin species here in LA, and so they are not usually accepted by wildlife rescues. Nuggie hatched with deformed feet and was kicked from the nest at about 2 days old. 1/

Boy, I hope I do this right and can get a nice curated feed going. Call me Meg! I'm a 100%-rated disabled veteran in my 30s, an undergrad student in geophysics, and married to a specialty costumer for the film industry. We have two cats & a disabled rescue sparrow. I'm excited to be here!
