Mediocre skateboarding | Incidental birdwatching.
I'm on Lakai's emailing list. They're running like 3 or 4 shoe styles, all of which are holdovers from the before times. It's somewhere between bleak and not a bad strategy for a company that nuked its goodwill in skateboarding.

I should add that I think O'Dell is also probably taller than I realized.

I think he's slightly shorter than Patrick O'Dell. I always thought he was on the tall side until I saw a photo of the two next to each other and was surprised.

To be fair, it's a rather obscure bit of skateboard trivia. I don't think their footwear had the same popularity as their clothing did in the low 2010s.

He had a decent amount of success at UB and then jumped ship to Alabama. I believe he split right after signing an extension to stay in Buffalo and that was what irked me. Oats got the Bulls to a point where people were stoked on college hoops around here beyond the default team of Syracuse.

Don't even get me started on Nate Oats.

You can move a team from Buffalo across the country decades ago, but you still can't get rid of our ineptness at sports after all those miles and years.

I'm almost positive I went over the syllabus with them whenever their first day was, too.

Maybe should've used a King Diamond deep cut.

I don't remember the exact details at this point, but I had a student show up at the art office complaining about how their poor attendance affected their grade. They asked if I ever said that in class and I was like, "Yeah, I said that on the first day, which you also weren't there for."

It was a decent day of skateboarding. I ran a lot of errands and cleaned in the morning so I knew I was going to run out of gas sooner or later. I saw about a dozen robins in the morning, a double-crested cormorant at the lake, and a downy woodpecker in the yard. I also heard a chickadee. (2/2)

It vaguely feels like we're entering into another age of the Patriots owning the division.
