I’m in favour of more walkable spaces. but in reading about the Montreal summer blockades it does seem to present some problems, especially for the small business owners on those streets

Is it sad? In most places in Canada we live this way out of necessity

For example, growing up in my small town we had to drive two hours to the nearest Walmart. four hours to the nearest Costco

eg. are the subway stations close enough to these streets that this is a viable option for most who live there?
