I wish people would stop concocting these 'smart' explanations. Republicans are living in a fact free void of crank economics, shitty religion, and racism where any evidence against their ideas is immediately discarded as a liberal plot. It's better to view it as a mass instance of ego collapse.

So this is a tough one because convivence is a word. It's being used correctly. It's only a mistake because most readers will assume they found a typo instead of hitting the dictionary. I say it's a bad editorial choice just because it raises the appearance of impropriety.
