GPU instanced individual grass blades with 9 vertices each, 32767 per 64m2 rendering in under 1ms.
I'm still not sold on the way it looks though.

Anyhow, on to implementing LOD for this whole system.

Interesting to see the artifacts a 8 bit grayscale texture causes when displacing in a heightmap, 16 bit looks smooth like butter

Ever since I started dabbling in game dev, I find myself spacing out staring at reflections in the real world, pondering how I'd replicate the light interaction in a game engine.

I don't know, this kind of rocks.
