It's a good movie! I feel like, out of the spectrum of "secular" / modern-setting Christmas movies, It's a Wonderful Life has the best... moral? (Miracle on 34th Street has by far the worst.) Good cast, good script, great emotional arc, ending so good it made the Xmas carol they used my favorite.

Keep the central cast of five, dump everything involving the characters of the week, stop making Japanese actors speak terrible phonetic English, and for god's sake get a competent lighting crew and cinematographer so we can actually see what's going on

It does also have the distinction that the dub *into its original production language* makes it better, which probably hasn't happened a lot
