Fun! I love then/now histories of human spaces. The Center for Land Use Interpretation (CLUI) mapped a trove of Coast Realty archive photos in LA to google earth & street views from today. Their HQ is a fun visit too, two doors down from the Museum of Jurassic Technology.

I’ve lived in Europe and Asia. Holland is pretty much the gold standard standard for a perfect balance of cars, bikes & peds. Even the highways have bike paths for longer distances riders. Shanghai is more quantity vs quality. Both generally have the bike lanes separated from the car & ped lanes

It’s much easier to be the fun aunt/uncle than a parent. Just like being a substitute teacher: you can come with a ton of positive energy since you know you will only be there for a day or more. But when you are the teacher who shows up every single day it’s near impossible to bring that same energy

Awesome. I only saw that clip in the last few years. I was at the Moore Theater show and didn’t realize he did that more than just that one time.

Eddie climbed the rigging at a few shows. Just curious if you were talking about the one at the Moore Theater (Evenflow video) or Drop at the Park (free show that was gonna be at Gasworks, then got cancelled because too many people, and rescheduled for Marymoor)? Or maybe you went to both?

Hell yeah! I went to college in Claremont in the early 90s and one of the only campus jobs I could get was serving beer at the shows on the weekend. Someone at that school was plugged into the scene, because we had a steady rotation of local punk and ska bands coming through there.
