4/ The ‘Maturity Matrix’ is a promising tool to track how well forces are embedding anti-racism.
We’ve pushed for a child rights lens to be fully integrated.
We hope to see it lead to real, tangible change in police interactions with Black children.

3/ We’re pleased ISOB has recognised the role of adultification bias—where Black children are perceived as older, more threatening & less in need of care.
This must be addressed in police training & guidance. We await the findings of the impending ‘Adultification Review.’

Policing continues to disproportionately harm Black and other racialised children.
