One of the best times of the year to go there. Watch out for all those "commies". They might try to sell you a dirty water dog or a pretzel or they may even tempted by the the mysterious "halal guys" to sample delicious treats.

I'd amend as such. Continue being a clown for awhile and make the office ineffective and then eventually be disbarred.

I'm wondering if this will be what finally gets us over the line to throwing all the bums out. The more they play these games, the more Americans will come to the conclusion that maybe the rot is just too deep to let be.

I suspect they'll try to be "clever" and release portions,, smokescreen damaging revelations about key figures behind investigations but do it incompetently.
We'll see the gaps and like in other cases it will be clearly illegal and little will be done to address it. Public anger will grow.

Let's be frank. Many of the national reporting pool？They're pathetic. They're only there for the money and the fame. They don't have values that many of us would consider our bedrock. The last few years have shown us they are not decent people. This moment was just confirmation of this sad pattern.

What's striking to me is how they are out loud just being...morally reprehensible. It really makes you wonder if there are any lines they won't try to cross. There just seem to be way more outwardly vile people at the moment. And a society that rewards vile behavior is often not long for the world.

It's just honest moral clarity. Something completely absent from so much of the US government now.

These are the same people who have been TERRIBLE at politics for years. The only way to fix it is to find new leaders. Leaders with guts. Leaders who aren't utterly corrupt and have moral clarity. The only way to heal this party is find a new way forward because these idiots aren't it.

Exactly. Find some way to walk out of this with a message. Nope. Some traitors gut shot the party in the dead of night after being handed huge election wins. It's maddening how bad at politics the Democrats are. They're just hopeless. They finally had a winning play and they just fumbled it.

This. Things were getting very tough for Trump. They were exposing how morally bankrupt the administration was punishing citizens, etc. Trump found the true weak spot. Senators hate flight disruptions because otherwise they can't get out of town quickly every Thursday.

Right. I know some people like @timmiller.bsky.social are pointing out that this did enable some bad press to start rolling Trump's way and some misery was avoided but that still doesn't address how a lot of Democratic party members feel they got gut shot by the leadership. It's a deep wound.
