I always enjoy reflecting on a good memory we share followed by how much I appreciate being in each other's lives (to whatever extent that may be, even if it's just exchanging cards annually).

I’m literally in the middle of it right now with my second to last assignment for my MLIS, but apparently it’s hard to learn your lesson when you have it down to a “science” and succeed anyways! 😅

"Emotional-load-bearing" is such a good term for it. I have also found myself crying over things that others would see as silly but really these little comforts are sometimes doing a lot of work!

I am by no means an artist, but I host these classes because I want to bring the joy of crafting to my patrons. I’ve gotten really good feedback on how much they enjoy it too!

Besides decorating our library for different times of the year, I also try to host a monthly crafting class. Past ones include making your own bookmark, painting like famous artists, and printmaking!

I was told that being able to decorate for the holidays to this extent is very rare in prison libraries. More than one patron said that little things like this help bring a sense of normalcy to their lives and help them enjoy this time of year more. 📚📜
