However, even with spending the meter on 2db(1) rc, a kill is still possible here. In the real match, I tried to route into 6c a second time after 5da, which was the mistake that caused the combo to drop. Here's what the kill looks like with an EA ender.

I missed the ch2c 6da confirm, unfortunately, that would have saved me a lot of meter and given me - you guessed it - an easy kill. The combo there would look something like this; this probably isn't optimal but is very close.

Shoutouts to yhmjack1, fellow Kagura player and labber who found this sick cct extension from 5c 2db(1) rc 6c!

In the end, the fog of war comes for all, even me! no matter how much we know in the lab. Always more tournaments to prove myself, though! Someone's about to get hit by this.

The worst thing by far, though, is that I could have killed even with the route I did with one simple optimization - going for the 2dc I wasn't sure would work. (It works.)

Let me emphasize how egregious not killing Towito here is. This is one of the biggest mistakes I made all weekend.

I could have also done 5c 2db(1) rc here since I was worried about 5c 6dc, but in the fog of war I simply didn't check my meter in time.

These routes are great when there's no counterhit and Kagura hits the 5c from max range, since 2db takes longer to travel that far.

I chose to punish with ch5c 2db cfaf kad rc, not wanting to go for ch5c 6dc at max range. This is actually a huge blunder on my part, unfortunately. 5c 6dc has problems connecting at long ranges, but not on counterhit. It's an easy kill. Kagura even builds 100 here for cfaf kad rc zanga. A big miss.

#BBCF #BBCF2_KG Took a break from packing to lab some 2da routes and found 8k! Looks to be universal and optimal, too, and fatal hitstun makes most of it fairly forgiving, though the orb needs to be delayed on some characters, like Platinum. (Reuploaded with higher quality.) #PlayCF

In Serpent's defense, Clownish Calendula is a VERY scary move to punish. Kagura can run up and hit 5c 2dc, but he can run into one of its 40 (!) active frames if he's just a bit too close. Given the situation and pressure, it's no wonder Serpent played it safe.

Have a ch2c combo :)

Yeah, that's a dead Rachel. With a whopping 22 HP to spare. (Why does she have 11,000 again?)

Mind the microdash OTG 2c, though - that's not the easiest thing to hit midscreen.

Susano'o is one of just seven characters (with Tager, Hakumen, Makoto, Kokonoe, Naoto, and Es) that Kagura can do ch5c cct on midscreen. Without access to it, Kagura can't access his highest corner damage. Sadly, Susano'o will live another day.

With more meter to start the combo with ch5c cct and still end in Zanga, Kagura can do more than enough damage in AF to kill Susano'o here for a massive 8,450 damage.

The 6c66 2db is autotimed. Don't microdash the 6c, though, or it can cause the 2db to whiff underneath Susano'o.

Seo found a second combo that does a little bit more damage, but still not even enough to break 8k. This 6dc66 5c is more lenient with regards to the screen spacing. However, it only seems to work on big bodies, and the ender is very tight.

Here's the highest damage combo I found. The 2db 5dc a orb 5c is screen position specific and requires Kagura to be spaced out at least a little bit at the end of 2db. Otherwise, the orb can't hit Susano'o late enough to combo into 5c because Kagura is too close to the corner when he throws it.

#BBCF #BBCF2_KG Kagura max damage (I think) from CH 6b! Remember to set Battle Status to "Normal" instead of "Unaffected" when recording max damage combos! A counterhit combo that cashes out full resources generally builds Active Flow before it ends, so that much burst damage is guaranteed!
