For those of you reading along at home, we're just about to finish chapter 9 of "Lord of the Flies."

We get to watch history get rewritten by the victors in real time.

What a time to be alive.

Tesla is missing $1.4 billion.

"I'm going to jail if Trump loses."

I think we're going to learn that Musk spent a lot more than $270m to buy the presidency.

Tesla has $1.4 billion that seems to have gone astray
Accounting experts say there are plausible explanations for the discrepancy as Elon Musk tries to rally the EV giant.

You know how sometimes you go back and watch a show from your youth and it isn't as awesome as you remember?

#KnightRider is the opposite of that.

It's getting worse.

I don't usually post from the Bad Place, but we are in a very bad place right now.

This is a genuine post by Trump, and it's terrifying. We knew this was coming, but I didn't expect it so soon.

And this was before I saw that his personal security forces are white supremacists from South Africa.
I am feeling a genuine worry that Musk is plotting a coup, and his private army of computer scientists, lawyers, and personal security forces are the forward team.

"Fascism" is when a politician tells you that "drastic times call for drastic measures" and you agree with him.
February 5, 2025 at 5:18 PM
I'm trying to decide whether I should be saying the things in my head that would be perfectly acceptable in a free nation but could very well have Musk's FBI rooting through my trash cans.

The main reason why Trump lost in 2020 was because everybody in this country had one degree of separation from someone who died of COVID - and they (rightfully) placed much of the blame for those deaths on Trump.

If history repeats, MAGA just lost the 2028 election.

I absolutely guarantee you that there are serious discussions about the logistics of secession occurring in multiple states as we speak.

I'm really having trouble with the past few days. I'm hugely anxious for Canada, and I fear the damage this will do to them. I fear what this will do to Mexico, and Europe beyond that.

I fear this disease will eventually take down all of western civilization, and I hate being so dramatic.

I am so exhausted by this timeline.

This transfer was only peaceful because the one remaining party who respects the country happened to lose.

I will be struggling on the 20th in part because, as someone trying to recover from a long-term relationship with a narcissist, I was hoping we would rebuke the obvious manipulation, self-centeredness, and toxic environment Trump encouraged.

I'm trying not to take this inauguration personally.

I don't generally post content from the Other Place, but wow - the implosion is both bigger and sooner than I expected.

The civil war between White MAGA and Tech Bro MAGA is here, and we just might run out of popcorn.

It must be difficult to be a liberal on social media, with people posting lies and conspiracies to try and make you look stupid.

Then I realized it must be even harder to be MAGA and have people posting facts and history to make you look stupid.
December 21, 2024 at 6:04 PM
Is it any surprise that narcissistic MAGA believes they should be able to "approve" any bill Congress passes?

Trump harnessed the power of people with a personality disorder to become president. It's terrifying.

GOP House caucus today.

As it turns out, one of the most effective ways to resist Trump might be to just get out of the way and let him implode.

I'm still suffering from the overdue realization that the greatest threat to my happiness, my prosperity, my safety, and my freedom isn't a foreign government, a violent criminal, or even my own government - it is my neighbor, who will gladly sell me out for the promise of preferential treatment.
December 19, 2024 at 12:20 AM
MAGA is a movement because it combines a political *ideology* with a political *methodology* - and MAGA is successful because you don't need to fully subscribe to either to embrace it and vote for it. /1

This is absolutely spot on and is something I've been saying as well.

The left has spent those years trusting the reach of the MSM and the ability of the American public to consume media rationally. Those assumptions have failed us dramatically.

We need to play their game.
When I read a new interview from Harris’s Dep Campaign Manager, it hit home for me because it was something I have warned about for years. Dems are losing the Information War, but there is one big way they can turn things around. open.substack.com/pub/meidasto...
The One Big Reason Why Dems Are Losing the Information War
The good news is, this can be fixed with a new approach.
