Oh, I don't know anyone that cosplays for a game that doesn't play, either. That's why it's my tinfoil hat theory. The number of bitter people I've heard complain rather than get better is too many.
December 20, 2025 at 4:13 AM
My tinfoil hat theory is someone rightfully lost a fabtcg cosplay contest and they knew someone with pull inside LSS. They claimed the person won and didn't even play the game.

Yep, that's too close to release and too far from now to be of any use. Even if they don't release it now, doing so on, say, January 2nd would allow people to have more informed choices on heroes and formats prior enough to the set hitting to be able to put the rest of their deck together.

This wasn't even the worst announcing for a Colts game this year. As someone who is a Colts fan, the Daniel Jones narrative was bonkers terrible this year and led to way worse commentary than what happened Sunday.
December 16, 2025 at 9:10 PM
This is 100 percent true, and would be even more true if there were more than one hundred percentage points available.
December 16, 2025 at 9:03 PM
Why so late? If formats and metagames are stale or incomplete, why not give people the chance to brew and try out what is coming up in order to actually remove that staleness or allow them to actually try out the format as intended?
December 16, 2025 at 8:56 PM
You aren't wrong, but I'd rather see an Earth Necromancer decompose to get their allies while a Shadow Necromancer uses allies with Blood Debt, gets them into the banished zone, then brings them into play from there.

What's with the cardboard thing on the side of his gun? Did he forget to take it off when he took it out of the box for the photo op?
December 16, 2025 at 7:29 PM
Who?
December 16, 2025 at 7:26 PM
I love me some KoL. To me that is one of the pinnacles of the form.
December 16, 2025 at 7:23 PM
Oh, for sure. Between that and destroying unions in the 80's we've done a lot, at least in the US, to absolutely obliterate the idea machine.
December 16, 2025 at 7:17 PM
Ok, so ban Claw. Same thing. Force people to do something different just for the sake of doing something different, right? If Claw makes playing against Brute stale, just change it. They clearly have the technology and are willing to force that on others.
December 16, 2025 at 6:52 PM
If they would have left LL points well enough alone we wouldn't have this problem. The metagame would have cycled out Verdance and Cindra by now and things wouldn't be so stale.
December 16, 2025 at 4:59 PM
You don't see Kayo decks without Bloodrush. You don't see Dash without Boom Grenade. Why aren't they also being asked to play differently if bans are coming down for cards that get played so much it creates a lack of deck variety and exploration? I know a lot of people tired of the BrB turn in Kayo.
December 16, 2025 at 4:53 PM
I wasn't saying ban Bloodrush. I was saying it is an example of something they didn't ban "just to shake up how people play". It speaks to what can be expected going forward where their careless design ethos can cause someone to get into the game and then have what they like cut out "just because."
December 16, 2025 at 4:49 PM
Well, it already isn't looking good for my goal comletion prospects. What I did still enjoy about #fabtcg is being taken away with the latest bnr.
December 16, 2025 at 9:59 AM
I'm glad that the game is for you. The message that I'm getting from LSS is that it isn't for me. They're even being very explicit about it, too. And I can accept that, but I don't have to like it, and I don't have to like that they made the decision after presenting the game as something else.
December 16, 2025 at 9:38 AM
I think you understand my point well enough and are now just arguing semantics. The point stands that they banned cards just to force people to play differently when there wasn't a power reason to do so, and they didn't apply the same logic across the board.
December 16, 2025 at 9:01 AM
It isn't any harder than what Rootbound was doing and it is much more reliable for all of those heroes.
December 16, 2025 at 8:57 AM
They didn't ban Boom Grenade just because Dash I/O always runs it and has reliable access to it. They didn't ban Bloodrush Bellow because Kayo always runs it and has a near-100% hit rate for the card draw portion. At least with the Tipple ban, Marlynn took a stray for balance purposes.
December 16, 2025 at 8:50 AM
Ok, so tell me what hoops Kayo, Armed and Dangerous has to jump through? What about Dash I/O? What about Oscillio? Kano's ability doesn't have any hoops required to turn it on. Slippy and Ira both just get flat bonuses that are incredibly good.
December 16, 2025 at 8:46 AM
It isn't about *just* the mechanics. It is also about it being Florian. That's what you seem to keep missing. The character matters just as much as the mechanics. The *feel* of the totality matters much more than the sum of its parts.
December 16, 2025 at 8:31 AM
I could list a sizeable percentage of heroes in FAB that don't have to "jump through hoops" to get to use their hero ability; they just work.
December 16, 2025 at 8:25 AM
But he doesn't play Verdance, Jarl, Oldhim, or Briar. He doesn't play Chane, or Viserai, or Vinsette. The one thing that would move him off of Florian, or at least open up something other than just Florian, would be an Earth Necromancer and that doesn't exist yet.
