Hmmmm, I wonder what kind of software I could make to express and assert civil disobedience... when the corpos decide to crush those of us who make things that make the world work, I feel like there's plenty we can do to fuck them up with those same skills.

After trying not to gag while pissing in the men’s room today, I think we need a new office rule: don’t clean your ancient stinky dick cheese at the office. Right up there with don’t microwave fish at work.

In 2005 I obtained Landed Immigrant status in Canada because of the fuck-ups of GW Bush and a mostly-joking position of moving to Canada if shit got worse. Now my wife (a Canadian citizen) and I are seriously considering starting the process selling our house and moving there. Not joking now.

Yep. Didn't get the job. =/ Fuck.
January 20, 2026 at 4:41 AM
Very worried that the job I've been interviewing for over the last 5 weeks has ghosted me... Everyone told me expect to hear about next steps on Monday and that they are "moving very fast" on this role. They also hinted that nobody else was in the running, so not hearing back prolly means "nope". =/

Decided to try something different for lunch today. Didn't want the fuss of making Phad Thai with the noodles, so I took the Phad Thai sauce and made a stir-fry dish over rice with it instead. All the same ingredients and flavors, without the noodles, over rice. Not bad!

I'll never understand bsky users whose TLs are nothing but reskeets. Why would anyone follow that, instead of the people you're reskeeting?

Life's been pretty lonely lately... not many friends talk to me or play games with me or anything. Normally I might try to take the steps to keep in touch, but right now I'm too stressed for that.

Whew, finished the final of 3 final round interviews for this job opportunity. I think it went well, but hard to say. I turned one of his questions about staying long-term around on him, and he didn't have an answer and was a bit flustered by it, so hopefully he takes that well. =/
January 16, 2026 at 8:59 PM
Blah, found out that even if the last two interviews go well in the next couple days, it wouldn't be until end of next week until they could get an offer out to me. Really, really wanted to turn in my 2 weeks notice this week. =/

This is our president, folks.

A masterclass is lacking tact, grace and dignity. Flipping a blue collar factory worker the bird for calling him out on being a piece of shit. Just before this, he very cleared mouthed the words "Fuck you" at the heckler - twice. Americans voted for this shitheel.

I need to spend less time on LinkedIn. It's a hellsite, almost as bad as Xitter is these days, with a whole lot of shitty hot-takes and opinions you didn't ask for. I can't even believe some of the shit I see posted in my TL on there, it's truly unmoderated and unfiltered.

Made it to fifth and final round of interviews! This time 3 separate 45 minute interviews with the VP, Director and Senior Engineer I've spoken to before. Really hoping to seal this deal and sign an employment contract ASAP, so sick of my current job, holy shit!

Made some fresh homemade lavash bread on my new flat top. Tried making the traditional way just water, flour, salt. Definitely not as good as when you add oil and baking powder. But I was able to keep them moist and flexible this time. And the greek chicken wraps were great. =9

Wondering what Microsoft's going to do here in the coming weeks... With Win11 public and consumer support absolutely folding with rage, Microsoft has some big choices to make, and the easy fix is to abandon Win11 and go back to simply supporting Win10. But will they do it?

Fourth interview round went GREAT. We had such a good conversation that we went 30 minutes over, and he had no complaints about it. He said he's definitely recommending me to move forward and I should hear about next steps on Monday.

Where are the cries for Impeachment? We need to get and keep #impeachment trending. It's time to get rid of this madman at the helm of the ship! He's committed enough crimes in plain sight to impeach him 20 times over at this point, so let's get it done!

Here's mine, I should clarify the criteria I used for my map: I only considered "stayed" as one week or more being there, or a cumulative total of a month over time. Visited meaning I spent the night at least one time. Stopped meaning I went to some attraction or event, not just for food/gas.

Made it to the fourth round interview for this new job. Doing that tomorrow afternoon. Hoping that turns into an offer this week. Gods I'd love to turn in my 2 week notice of resignation. And finally have enough money again to go to conventions and such.

Microsoft is hiring a lot of engineers these days. Shame they black-balled me 25 years ago for a stupid tiff with a furry who just happened to also be an employee at the time, and reported me to HR for calling him a "self-righteous prick" for suing his dad (who was a friend of mine), while at a bar.

Lavash bread came out okay, a bit too stiff/brittle, I wanted it to be softer. Tasted fine, though! And the filling that went inside it (I used the breads as wraps, stuffed with fresh greens, feta, harissa-za'atar chicken, onions, hummus and homemade greek dressing) was fantastic. =9

In the process of making homemade lavash bread, the dough is proofing right now. I gotta say that there's something really relaxing about kneading together dough by hand and how it starts out a royal mess but becomes this really enjoyable tactile ball of stuff the more you work it.

Huh, so... maybe I was wrong about the pace of combat in Midnight? Once I got to Fairbreeze, mobs were going down in 3-4 hits from my normal rotation. Seems the pacing issues may have just been in the intro content. TWW was the same, the Dalaran fights were BRUTAL in the intro.
January 3, 2026 at 1:05 AM
Been playing the WoW Midnight Beta to test new specs/builds for my main characters. And overall they ALL feel much more sluggish, battles take 2-4 times longer than TWW, and the pace just feels... dreadfully slow. I dunno if this is Blizz trying to "get back to Classic feel", but I don't like it.

Whew, just watched the finale of Stranger Things. That was mentally and emotionally exhausting! Be prepared for a long sit, too, it was a couple hours long. Not really sure how I feel after the ending, may take me a day or three to process. It was a lot all at once.
