I quit my subscription when I realised all I was watching was horrendous reality TV car crash stuff. Followed up by reading everyone’s opinion about the programme on Reddit. (I’ve now also jettisoned Reddit; replaced with doomscrolling on BlueSky 😂 Can’t help myself…)

There’s not much to do if you want to keep your number. Google “what to do if my number has been spoofed” (this also happened to me years ago; it will eventually stop).

I think, though, it’s a bit unfair calling out a specific individual. Who is responsible for the skill level of the rider? When does the team (or Zwift Academy) step in? And what will a “competency test” look like? (3/3)

Of course, you can only get better with practice (and coaching), and all that happens in the amateur ranks. So I don’t begrudge her the experience. But you’d think that by the time someone goes pro, they’d have years of bike handling under their belt. (2/3)

The best antidote is to talk to someone in their 60’s who will tell you you’re “still young” (in your mid-40’s).

She was also made to feel inadequate and incompetent by her local healthcare provider, even though her family advocated for her. I feel incredibly angry about this. To add: she is anti-woo. Follows science and wants the best for her baby. Her experience, however, is not unique (sadly).

I don’t have children, but a friend of mine experienced point 3 to the extreme (here in the UK). She experienced neural damage which nobody believed to be true, and the constant denial of her experience made her feel even worse than her PPD would have on its own. Family believed her. Docs/nurses not

I hope you felt a bit better having written that. I felt better for having read it. But what would’ve been better is if I could buy you a drink and have you say these words to my face as I cycled between applauding and crying. Bravo 👏 🍷

Didn’t believe you and then suddenly…
