What a year. Amidst chaos and cruelty, the clearest thing that came through from Selma to San Francisco, Amherst to Atlanta, New York to New Orleans, in Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Dallas, my home base of DC for 4 years and beyond, I’m incredibly grateful to have friends everywhere. #thanksgiving #grateful

Affordability isn’t about a race to the bottom for cheap stuff and cheap labor. It’s about shared responsibility, corporate accountability, public investments in public goods, strong unions & workers with power, and jobs with dignity, security, and meaning.

Minister Diaz met with labor leaders, workers, and electeds across California last week. As the U.S. pretends that being anti-worker globally is somehow good for American workers, California can be a global leader with our int'l partners. Ministra, te agradezco por tu liderazgo y amistad. Adelante!

This was possible because of the incredible work of the dedicated career staff at the USDOL’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), work that has been so undermined by this administration.

(A few photos from our meeting last year in DC when I was acting Labor Secretary.)

Veterans always find ways to continue their service in our workplaces and our communities and we are the beneficiaries in so many ways. Thank you to all our veterans for everything you did and everything you do. #veteransday 🇺🇸

A good time to remember that the flight attendant, TSA officer, counter and gate agent, baggage handler, airport janitor isn’t the reason your flight is delayed.

Be kind to them. Let them know you see them. And thank them for working under these circumstances.

Thinking of Setti Warren, the first Black mayor elected in Newton, Massachusetts. Sending love to all who knew him.

They can’t destroy democracy when we the people defend it in the simplest but most profound way we have: by voting.

In California, what we do affects the nation and often the world. In the 2024 presidential election, the people who didn’t vote brought about the outcome as much as those who did. Let’s show what happens when California shows up. #yeson50 #california

David Huerta has always stood up for workers, immigrants, and justice — and now he’s being punished for it. His arrest isn’t justice, it’s intimidation. When we speak out, we take back power. Silencing truth-tellers won’t work if we all raise our voices.

Why the truth, even when it isn’t pretty, is important to know. In fact, when it’s bad, it’s even more important if we want things to get better. #inflation #brokenpromises #economy #BLS #truth

Why is it always called “disruptive” when working people demand better? Thank you, @adamconover.net , for having me on Factually! to talk about worker exploitation and massive wealth & income inequality as the disruptive forces we need to address.

On the screen, the stage, and as leader of the largest SAG-AFTRA local, Jodi Long has broken barriers and pushed boundaries, creating a wider circle where more can belong, be heard, and know our worth. You deserve all the honors, Jodi!

We are in a government shutdown because Republicans can’t justify their ignorant, greedy, and unfair cuts to Americans’ healthcare so they have to lie about what this is about.

Thank you, @jimmykimmel.com, for reminding us that entertainers are working poor and hundreds of working people make a show possible. Welcome back. #jimmykimmel #workers

Among other harms, reckless use of ICE raids at workplaces and shackling & detaining workers is threatening investments in the U.S. that were poised to create thousands of jobs. Thank you, @thewarningses.bsky.social, for talking with me about this admin’s latest example of total incompetence.

Working people shouldn’t be criminalized for working.

The night before the latest Jobs Report that showed workers are struggling while the economy slows, the uber-rich were invited to the White House. Steve Schmidt and I talked about this “let them eat cake” moment and many other things on @thewarningses.bsky.social from last week.
