Don’t know whether there are problems with new builds.

If @nationaltrust halved its financial reserve, bought 150+ strategic UK sites for climate and wildlife, and opened up new public access via members, would its membership actually rise?

Why not try it?

NT greatest source of income is direct from members and property.

Lowest from investments.

Some farmers seem to claim that apex predators need control to protect farmland birds. This is a painful distortion of reality.

Were it true, farmland bird numbers would be growing exponentially in badger cull areas? No.

Habitat restoration must come first, esp. hedgerows + restrict pesticide use.

Bill increases will look small, probably for a year or so.

Increasing no. industries may get a rebate however, redistributing costs on bills.

plants may still never complete

Ppl don’t seem to understand as national media = detail lite, except Paul Brown (see screenshots)

Is this also like the older Italian men who famously walk up to construction workers and give them advice and comments on how to do a good job? Yes, we’re getting to that stage for solar too.

(They earned that right! >>>>)

Did you want a trip to a lodge unrated on booking website?

Four nights, £15,284
reduced to £13,755 for no cancellation policy.

The mosquito net is not continuous nor fixed under the bed, and it’s uncertain whether there are any amphibians left in the river to offer bio-control.

A ritzy romance.

Worth remembering which party was in power 2010-2024 and evidently didn’t do enough to ensure there was not foreign money being poured into UK politics.

Or has everyone been suffering the same amnesia on who was in power 2010-2024 as is apparent here:

Hope everyone is ok.

Is this story from the Kenya Maasai being spoken about at COP? Of course I doubt it.

We are losing community lands and wilderness areas:
the tonnes of carbon they store is like saying let’s preserve St Paul’s Cathedral for the stone.

Hope The Guardian can cover this soon.

But also be aware of equity falling so far and risks accruing so that pension funds write off their lending

Example: Ontario pensioners and the UK water sector

GB wind being decidedly *not* intermittent this week, leading to ever higher GW output and lower grid carbon intensity.

Changing wind speeds are balanced on the grid with interconnection and other forms of generation.

If anyone is in any residual doubt on tactical voting, only need to scan the Reform 2024 manifesto.

Summary: it screams tax gap, tax gap, tax gap.

Would put the Truss-Kwarteng “Lettuce-pray” Budget in the corner and 2029 manifesto likely even more desperate with false promises ie bad to worse.

As East Sussex residents woke up to news of a RTC death, near Wilmington village, is it time to ask whether we need new measures nationally to improve road safety and improve public transport.

Deaths and serious injuries nationwide are high, particularly for motorcyclists.

Who pays for LGW expansion?

A plan funded via RAB & financed by guarantees to private lenders for private profit: a return, paid by the airlines.

Airlines transfer costs to passengers.

Which airlines run most flights from LGW?
EJ and BA, in that order. What do they think?

What press says:

The ‘culture’ of obsessive park/verge/lawn cutting is ripe for adaptation.

See this beautiful, tiny, wildflower strip.

Within a sea of short cut, parched grass. A totally unnecessary hangover from the aristocratic fashion for bowling ball stripes.

No major rainfall forecast and mowing continues.
