Aha, instead of making an argument for a connection to Canada, it's automatic if the Canadian parent born/adopted abroad can demonstrate at the time of application that they spent three years in Canada prior to their child’s birth or adoption.

I know you’re attached to the movie examples but it’s simply not the same thing. No one is out there watching movie trailers thinking they could be documentaries, unless they are labeled documentaries.

I don’t think the 7 year old on their iPad is clued in to the difference.
Wouldn’t it be much less problematic if the non-documentary videos were just labeled?

For good or for bad, short videos are how people learn about the world. What does an anteater look like? How far can a squirrel jump? What does it look like when two stallions are fighting for practice versus fighting for fun? I want to know if it’s cool and real, or just cool.

For me, the important word is documents. Special effects and practical effects are both designed to alter reality so that something different is shown on the screen. But a video like this could be meant to document what actually happens or it could be meant to show what people can create with AI.

this made me think of my all-time least favorite version of walking, from Dragon age: inquisition, when I got to trudge through the snow for what felt like years while I was dying. bet someone made a mod for that, but I played on Xbox

That appears to be an unaltered photo taken for a story earlier this year. The change the administration made was to the nameplate under the official portrait- not to the photo itself.

I worry about this every time I work on an accounting for a probate estate, hah. Once spent hours looking for a penny and thought I must be fixing it and then messing it up again, repeatedly.
